I remember this piece from TRL (or was it M.A.I.L.?), but I still love it. The top looks like it's a perfect fit, and the colours are just cool! And although I don't like chainmail belts all that much, yours is very neat.
How did you get the top to fit so perfectly; did it fit the first time or did you have to modify it?
I posted it on TRL since I have been a member there from the beginning of their forums.
I thought the belt was ok until she put it on. She wore it completely differently than I was picturing, and it looked so much better that way.
It fit, but not well the first time. It sagged a bit on the outside edges. I fixed it by extending the 6-1 from the under wire through the sagging portions. You really have to know what your looking for to see the difference in the pattern, but it fit absolutely perfectly when I was done.

Wow...just...wow. I've never seen someone do colored chain mail before, but it's a brilliant idea. Of course it has the added benefit of making even more noise every time she moves. ^_^
Actually, one of the problems with using chain mail for belly dance outfits is the lack of noise. Anything form fitting doesn't have enough room to jingle, and it needs to be form fitting. The solution is of course to add danglly bits with coins or something at the ends like regular belly dance outfits. The colored rings though can get scratched up by such a setup.
The end result is that the outfit is only useful for certain types of dances. Fortunately, when it's useful, it's perfect.

Huh--that's interesting. I thought it was pretty much impossible not to jingle in chain mail, no matter how form fitting. Thanks for correcting me. ^_^
